Be prepared to sweat and have a great time!
When most people think of yoga, images of chanting and people maneuvering into seemingly impossible positions comes to mind. Yoga is NOT just for the fantastically flexible. In fact, if you cannot touch your toes, or perhaps even see your toes, you are a perfect candidate for the benefits of yoga.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive 20 minutes early to be fully present. We need the extra time so we can make sure you are all set for your first class with us. You can fill out the registration form, ask us questions about the yoga, meet the teachers, and meet the other beginners!
What do I need for class?
Wear something you're comfortable sweating in. Bring a large towel, a yoga mat, and a bottle of water. (We have all these things available to rent/ purchase at the studio.)
Avoid eating 2 hours before class. Yoga is always best practiced on an empty stomach. Some people however need to have a little something in their belly such as a piece of fruit. You'll soon figure out what works for you and what your body needs. Be well-hydrated! Drink lots of water before coming to class. Keep an open mind and an open heart.
What should I do after class?
- Drink plenty of water
- Be sure to come back the next day!
In the yoga room for everyone’s comfort, please:
- No shoes
- No gum
- No perfumes or cologne
- Turn off or silence cell phones
